* Buttermilk
* Butter
* Vanilla
* Cinnamon
Directions
Buttermilk Pie
3 eggs
1 C sugar
2 Tbsp. all purpose flour
1 1/2 C buttermilk
1/3 C butter, melted
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
Preheat the oven to 425°. Beat the eggs lightly with a mixer, then add the sugar and beat until the mixture is thick and light. Beat in the remaining ingredients. Pour into a pre-baked pie crust and bake for 30-40 minutes or until the top is golden.
You can't get more Southern than Buttermilk Pie. (I'm not much of a cook but this sure looks good to me. I have no information on the origin of the recipe.) Of course it is clear, given the instruction to bake in a pre-baked pie crust that this particular recipe is late twentieth century.
